Siva Shankar Master, a National Award-winning choreographer who had been in critical care for the previous few days after being diagnosed with a new coronavirus, died on November 28. The choreographer was 72 years old at the time.
Siva Shankar’s condition has deteriorated and he was rushed to the hospital three days ago.
Health officials estimated that 75% of his lungs were affected.
Siva Shankar, who was born in Chennai in 1948, appeared in nearly 800 films in ten languages. He choreographed songs for blockbusters like as Mann Vaasanai, Poove Unakkaga, Suryavamsam, Thiruda Thirudi, Varalaaru, Magadheera, and Baahubali: The Beginning. Varalaaru, Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaiya, Aranmanai, Thaana Serndha Koottam, and Sarkar are among Siva Shankar’s other films.
The choreographer was a four-time recipient of the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for his fantastic choreography in Poove Unakkaga (1996), Vishwa Thulasi (2003), Varalaru (2006), and Uliyin Osai. He won the National Film Award for the song Dheera Dheera Dheera in Magadheera (2008).
When Telugu megastar Chiranjeevi learned of Siva Shankar Master’s situation, he offered financial assistance to his younger son Ajay. For his late father’s treatment, Ajay had gotten a cheque for Rs 3 lakh. Ajay had also received assurances from Chiranjeevi that Siva Shankar would always have his backing.
