The electric buses delivered by Evey Trans to the Kadamba Transport Corporation (KTC) were flagged off by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Saturday. Evey Trans Private Limited, an electric bus company, has delivered the second batch of electric buses to Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited (KTCL). In December 2020, KTCL placed an order for 50 electric buses with the company. For a duration of ten years, the order calls for the supply, operation, and maintenance of 50 12-meter electric buses under a Gross Cost Contract (GCC) / OPEX model. These air-conditioned buses have a seating capacity of 48 passengers plus the driver. Passengers will enjoy a smooth ride thanks to the electronically regulated air suspension. The buses are outfitted with security cameras, an emergency button, and USB charging ports to assure commuter safety.
The bus’ lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery allows it to drive up to 200 kilometers on a single charge, depending on traffic circumstances. The regenerative braking mechanism on the technologically advanced electric bus allows the bus to recover some of the kinetic energy lost during braking. The battery may be fully charged in 3-4 hours thanks to the high-power charging mechanism.
