The country’s largest lender, State Bank of India, announced on Saturday that its net profit increased by 62.27 percent to Rs 8,432 crore in the third quarter of the current fiscal year, compared to the same period the previous year.The earnings of the government-run lender in the third quarter of 2021-22 is the greatest quarterly profit ever.
In the third quarter of 2021-22, the bank’s operational profit climbed by 6.86 percent year on year to Rs 18,522 crore, up from Rs 17,333 crore in the previous year.
The gross NPA ratio in the third quarter of the current financial year was 4.50 percent, down 94 basis points year on year, while the net NPA ratio was 1.34 percent, down 47 basis points year on year, taking proforma NPAs as of December 20, 2021 into account, the SBI said in a statement.
