Varanasi is set to witness a massive congregation of leaders from political parties as the district goes to polls in the final and seventh phase on March 7. With 54 Assembly constituencies, including eight in Varanasi, going to polls in the seventh and last phase of UP elections, several top politicians will be camping in the spiritual capital of India.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who represents the temple town in Lok Sabha, is set to campaign for BJP candidates on March 4 and 5. The BJP’s Varanasi city president Vidyasagar Rai on Wednesday said that Modi will hold a roadshow in the city area on day one and the next day he will address a public meeting in Khajuri village in Rajatalab. Polling for the last phase of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly election will be held on March 7 and the results will be declared three days later.
